Fees & Payment Options

FEES

All enlargements are done on premium quality 11" by 17" (full-frame*) Kodak paper, and are offered at a fixed price of $40.00 with no sales tax. The size of the border may vary with format of the image.

Packing is done in a suitably padded envelope, and your enlargements are shipped USPS First-Class at a set rate of $8.00 for orders up to $100.00. Orders over $100 pay a total of $10, orders over $200 pay a total of $12 shipping and handling, and so forth.

At this time I am only shipping domestically.

*full-frame meaning there has been no cropping of the image. This does not mean that matting or framing is included. Okay, I'm sure you knew that, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

A number of framers seem to think the content of the image or painting is in some way incidental to their craft. At least you could get that impression from the prices they charge. But we all know that's not the case. The print should be the point of focus and interest, and I think a simple off-white matte and a clean black frame is the way to go, at least with black-and-white prints.

WHAT ABOUT OTHER SIZES?

At this time I am only producing 11x17 prints. With a 4" matte border and a 2" frame, you end up with a 24x30 picture on your wall, as seen in the photo below.

N.B. A few of the images in the galleries are panoramic, and thus do not conform to the 11x17 aspect ratio. Nonetheless, they are printed on 11x17 paper, and can be matted according to the consumer's needs.

HOW TO PURCHASE

Purchasing the prints is a simple and secure process, employing the acclaimed Paypal© system. As you browse the galleries, you can click on a thumbnail to view an enlarged version. This version is of lower quality and resolution than the copy you will receive. I have had to make this concession to meet the practical size restrictions of online viewing. Additionally, each image "embedded" with a Digimark© watermark to deter piracy.

Beneath each image are two icons. If you wish to purchase a particular image, click the Paypal© cart, and your purchase will be recorded. Additionally, a new window will open up showing the contents of your "shopping cart". At this point, you will be given the option to either continue shopping or checkout. You can also cancel any purchases at this time. If you decide to continue shopping, you will be returned to the gallery, to continue browsing. If you decide to checkout, a window will open from the Paypal© site showing a list of your selections. The prices and shipping charges are calculated automatically. At this point, you will be asked to choose a payment option, and asked for delivery instructions and the like.

I accept almost all forms of payment. Credit card transactions are safe and secure through Paypal©. If you are already a Paypal© member, you can make a direct payment that way, as well. Money orders and personal checks are also accepted.

TOO COMPLICATED, YOU SAY?

No problem! We can do it the old-fangled way. Just write out your order and mail it to me with a check or money order. In fact, if you live in the Westerly area, I'd be glad to save you shipping and hand deliver your order to you!

DELIVERY TIME

Each image is made-to-order. I do not keep inventory on hand. For this reason, most orders will be filled in around two weeks.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!

I have sold hundreds of prints over the years, and have never had a problem with customer satisfaction. However, please read the advice below on viewing images in your browser. The hue and saturation you see in some of the color images may be exaggerated due to concentrated size and monitor variations, whereas the hardcopy print (which is much larger at a generous 11x17) will undoubtedly seem more subdued and realistic. Hand-colouring postcards was an artform in itself in those days, and the saturated hues were a hallmark of the genre. At any rate, I guarantee your satisfaction. Plain and simple.

NOTES ABOUT VIEWING THE GALLERIES

While I have made every attempt to optimize each image for online viewing, there will undoubtedly be variations between different monitors, as well as variations between conventional monitors and flatscreens, laptops, and notebook computers. Please see that your display setting are as high as possible for optimum viewing. My experience has been that the hard-copy enlargements turn out better than what is seen onscreen.
